The New Thread Quartet plus four saxophones premiers Craig Shepard’s Across the Water Erin RogersNewtown Creek. The works incorporate the sounds of the site, inviting listeners to pause and breath in the ambience.

The event is entirely outdoors. All performers are required to be vaccinated; listeners are strongly encouraged to wear masks.

The Newtown Creek Nature walk is located near the ends of Paidge Avenue and Provost Streets at the northeast tip of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. 7 to Hunter’s Point Avenue and walk over the Pulaski, G to Greenpoint Avenue, B32/B67 to the foot of the Pulaski Bridge. Parking is available near the entrance to the Walk.

Concert is free an open to the public. RSVP requested but not required.

Taking it Outside is a co-production with the New Thread Quartet. Kristen McKeon was recognized with a $5,000 City Artists Corps grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) to contribute to the presentation of this event.
